Freeware PDF Unlocker is a free program which helps to remove restrictions from a read only PDF file. After removing the restrictions user will be able to print, edit and copy the PDF file. No need to give the password to unlock file.

After downloading and installing the software from the link given at the end of this article a shortcut will be created on the desktop.

Now just drag and drop the PDF file which is restricted on the PDF unlocker desktop shortcut. After you drop the file on it a new file will be created with the same filename and _noPW at the end of file name.

The software is very simple to use. It will work only if you have read permissions of the file. If the file requires password to open it then the software will not work. Just tested it on a PDF file and it worked like a charm. Give it a try if you are looking to remove restrictions from any PDF file. Here is the download link:

How to import Firefox bookmarks in Safari 5

As Safari 5 came out recently, many Firefox users made a shift to it. Due to the instability in Firefox many users moved to either Google Chrome or Safari. Here is a small “How To” on moving /importing your Firefox bookmarks to safari.

To import Firefox bookmarks in Safari 5 follow the simple steps given below.

  1. Open Firefox and click on “Bookmarks” in menu bar. There click on organize bookmarks.
  2. A new window will open. In that window click on “Import and backup” and select export HTML
  3. Save the exported bookmark.html file on your desktop.
  4. Now open your Safari 5 browser.
  5. Click on the settings icon located at the right top in your browser window. Select show menu.
  6. In menu bar click on File->Import bookmarks.

    Select the bookmark.html file which you saved earlier. And you are done. Your firefox bookmarks now can be accessed from Safari as well.

Desk Drive | access removable media from your desktop

One popular feature of operating systems like Linux and Mac is the ability to create shortcuts automatically whenever some removable media is plugged in. Desk Drive is a freeware which simulates the same feature in Windows systems.

The software is completely configurable as you can see in the image. You can select CD ROM, USB Media, Hard Disk partitions, Network drives to be showed on the desktop. Which means you will not have to open My computer every time you want to access some drive.

The application requires .NET 2.0 to run. Supports Windows XP/Vista.
